Lynn Thomas, Executive Director, with one of many benefiting from Americans Helping Americans programming.
Over the past twelve years Americans Helping Americans (AHA) has been able to develop a variety of programs working with local residents in collaboration with hospitals, churches, schools and local public and non-profit agencies to address some of the most critical needs faced by Americans especially those in Appalachia. Disaster and emergency relief, programs for youth, vocational training and home repair are just some of the ways we work with local communities to enlist resources and tackle serious problems.
AHA has also worked to create and support existing shelter, transitional housing and service programs in various parts of the country addressing some of the most severe needs in America -- homelessness, hunger, nutrition, domestic violence recovery and prevention, substance abuse treatment and health care for the poor.
Our purpose to work with local residents remains the same no matter where we go. To provide the tools and enlist the support needed to help communities achieve their determined goals. The philosophy of service enriched housing is to empower residents to get actively involved in their communities and help them develop programs and services to meet the specific needs shared by residents.
Our team is truly excited by the future and the promise it brings to so many throughout America. We hope you will find this website helpful in learning about our accomplishments and plans, and know that behind every accomplishment there are people just like you making it happen every day.
Thank you,
Lynn Thomas Executive Director
