Seeking solutions to long term problems in rural communities in West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina.
The prosperity of the 1990s passed over Appalachia without ever landing in our corner of America. Hard times have become a way of life for the folks who live in the hills and "hollers" of Appalachia. The good times, enjoyed by most Americans, have never reached these people. But, with sustaining support from our friends who aid our programs, who help us with food, water, medicine, rent and utilities assistance, home repair, warm clothing, shoes, school supplies, summer camp and educational enrichment programs for the kids, and other living essentials, we are surviving. Thanks to them, we are pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps to bring some meaning to our lives.
